Kala namak, translates as black salt and it’s a special type of mineral salt.
Volcanic unrefined salt with a distinctive strong flavour and an aroma of eggs
with high sulphur content as well as other minerals. Despite its name, it’s
more a reddish-grey due to its mineral and iron content.
The salt fragments are pink to dark violet.
Chemically, black salt is sodium chloride with iron, sulphurous components and
traces of minerals. It’s mined in volcanic areas of India and Pakistan. It’s a
100% natural salt without added substances.
Thanks to the lower sodium content, it’s even
suitable for high pressure or generally for those who want to reduce their salt
intake.
It has a beneficial effect on digestion - it
